It’s convention season, and the start of San Diego Comic Con!
Everywhere you look in the wonderful world of collectibles and nerddom, companies are showing off their limited edition offerings. But when it comes to conventions, this is not VeVe’s first rodeo. So how about we take a moment to look at some old exclusives from years gone by, including some that pair well with this year’s collection.
Silver Surfer
This first appearance Silver Surfer dropped as a Con Exclusive in 2022. What better way to show off your Silver Surfer #1 comic than to pair it with the original collectible? Better yet, it’s currently at a very reasonable market price (around 20 gems.)
Welcome to San Diego - Poster
This 60th anniversary Spider-man poster features different iterations of everyone’s favorite web-slinger having fun at the beach. It makes a great background in the VeVeVerse, and would also make a great background if you’re lucky enough to land a Spider-Man Marvel Metallic Red at the end of the week.
Marvel - Metallic Reds
Getting caught up on this series as a whole would definitely be a bit of a splurge since Iron Man is sitting just under 90 gems. However, there are some lower cost options, such as Storm just under 30 gems, the Avengers Tower just above 30 gems, and Doc Ock at around 10 gems. Personally, I’d go with Doc Ock if I had to pick one, because Spider-Man is going to need someone to fight!
Kassandra and Kassandra Base
Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey dropped last year at New York Comic Con. These are so rare that if you want one to complete your Assassin’s Creed collection, you may need to buy it in the VeVe store for 40 gems. The Kassandra Base is also available in the store if you want a clean mint, or you can find it on the market for around 12 gems.
Hey! Where’s Our Marvel Mighty?
While subject to change, it looks like VeVe broke with tradition and didn’t drop us a poster or any Mighties this year. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be including them in our con-themed collections, especially when they’re so reasonably priced in the market.
Seriously, what’s a convention without food trucks? Deadpool is happy to come to the rescue, with Deadpool’s Chimichanga Truck at about eight gems. The Thanos Copter and the Spider-Mobile are also great additions at around 12 gems, and like many Con Exclusive Mighties, they’re also one-piece sets. And don’t forget about Captain Carter, the first Mighty exclusive, who currently has a very thin floor at around 20 gems.
This is just a small handful of old exclusives that you might want to keep in mind. So don’t forget to do some digging through the marketplace - you never know what other treasures you may find!
