Decorating for Halloween?
With DesignerCon Hong Kong underway and DesignerCon Las Vegas less than seven weeks away, you might be tempted to go through the VeVe Market and dig up some older collections.
Whether you’re trying to make a scene for AR, Vault, or the VeVeVerse, there are plenty of creepy art pieces that would fit into your haunted house scenes.
Here are some older pieces that might be worth raising from the dead.
Big Trouble (Original Colourway)
Matt Gondek
Okay, this one is a given. If you’re interested in picking up Bone Appetite, this one is already on your list. The Ultra Rare version of Big Trouble is sitting just under 20 Gems, as of this writing. The color palette might not work in all Halloween builds, but if you’re doing a blacklight themed Halloween maze or you just need something to place in a dark corner, these could still work. It’s also a win if you tend to go all-out on glow-sticks during Trick-or-Treating.
Retro Bobo
Evermind
Retro Bobo, the predecessor to Mech Bobo, is easier to fit in with any Film Noir, Old Hollywood Horror builds. And what’s a skyscraper without a giant gorilla on it? I ask you! As a bonus, they’re currently under 5 Gems.
Cereal Killers: Count Calorie, Franken Fat, and Poo Fairy
Ron English
Every Halloween in the United States, three cereals find their way back for a sugarbomb nostalgia trip, flying off the shelves like a witch on a broom. When I was a kid, I was a Boo Berry fan, while my sisters liked Frankenberry the best. Does anyone have love for Count Chocula? Anyone?
No matter what your favorite is, it’s a known Halloween treat… just don’t read the label.
Count Calorie, Franken Fat, and Poo Fairy are listed in the market under 10 Gems. There are very few of these in the market, but if you’re quick, you can get all three of them for under 30 Gems.
Original Ahwroo and Forever
Baseman
When you’re looking for creepy art for Halloween, you can’t go wrong with Gary Baseman. You can work anything on the platform into decor, from Toby on down. This year, I picked Original Ahwroo, a jumpscare bargain at 2 Gems. Extra Bloody Ahwroo is also at a decent price, currently under 15 Gems.
The Forever painting was a one-time airdrop to set holders of the Memento Moa paintings. Since only 328 of them were minted, 30 Gems for this piece is a bargain, especially since it's the perfect painting to hang on any haunted house wall.
So, no matter what builds or spooky additions you’re planning this year, don’t forget to take a look back at older drops for a little inspiration. If you have a favorite artist, search for them by brand rather than a specific collectible. You may find something else that’ll fit into your spooky themes.
Happy Haunting!
