Adventures in Veve: Field Notes #1
Welcome to Field Notes!
As you know, I have two main themes in my blogs:
The main blog, Adventures in Veve, are mostly for literary pieces; snapshots of the experience of collecting on the platform whether it be its triumphs or its growing pains in an attempt to reflect either my sentiment or community sentiment in a humorous way.
Then I have Letters to the Author, which I typically put out as critical editorials. There are only ten of these… I don’t do it that often because I prefer a lighter touch, but they do come up.
Recently, I’ve been experimenting with lists of different things, but it really doesn’t fit with the Adventures in Veve allegories, so I decided to make a new category: Field Notes! If you see Field Notes in the title, it’s a sign that it’s going to be one of two things:
1: A list blog.
Examples, my favorite collectibles, my best pics under ten, overlooked collectibles in the Veveverse, underrated comics, and so on. It may even be tangential to Veve, where we have a Disney drop or a Marvel drop or we finally get the Blue Box drop, and I decide to dive into some IP lore. There may be regular book lists, movie lists, art lists… if it’s loosely connected to a digital collection, it may show up here.
2: Tips, tricks, or quick pieces for new folks.
Adventures in Veve is meant to be an insider’s blog for the fam. They are relatable and filled with insiders humor that comes with the experience. That’s the point of the main blog, and it’s going to stay that way. But under the Field Notes label, I may do tips for new users, or discuss barriers-to-entry topics.
So, look for the Field Notes tag in the future!
And with that, let’s look at:
Ten Collectibles Under Ten for Spring Decor in the Veveverse
Flower and Flower’s base. (2 pieces of the Bambi set.)
What spring would be complete without Flowers, am I right? You can pick up both Flower and his base for under ten gems, and I know I use those bases all of the time in the Veveverse.
Sunflower Grin Special Mission (2 piece set)
Speaking of flowers, you can’t beat grabbing both the silver and the gold for around 5-6 gems. Whether you decide to sink the base for a more earthy look or put them on your patio, you can’t beat it. Not only that, but the price makes it worth doubling up on if you want a row (you could always turn them away from the path if they creep you out too much.)
Failure of Control (1 piece set.)
There’s nothing that says spring like pastel! If you’ve been waiting for this piece to come down or perhaps forgot about it, it’s ready for your VVV wall. Under 10 gems, the fact that it’s a 1 piece set is a great bonus past the pastel.
Groot Mighties (4 out of the 5.)
With their woody complexion and green accents and vines, these would look great in a spring garden theme. Captain America Groot and Thor Groot go for only two gems, while Spiderman Groot and Black Panther Groot go for around 10 gems. The Captain Marvel Groot is very pricey, but if you want to try for the set, Groot Mighties are still in the store for 15 gems.
The House from Up: Adventure is Out There! (From Pixar Pals.)
And last… what is spring without some colorful balloons, and these are even environmentally friendly! Whether you keep the house “up” or sink it into your ground level for some color, this collectible is also around ten gems in the market and has potential even outside of your spring collection.
And those are my top ten ideas for spring decorating in the Veveverse.
Happy Decorating!
